Moving the Chains by Em Lyons Bouch6/10/2023 ![]() ![]() The author did a wonderful job throughout the book in mentioning that there is help out there. This is what I really feel we could all use more of these days. He had willingly taken on the responsibility that both the mother and father had lacked. I especially liked and admired Abby’s brother with his love, caring and closeness with his sister. ![]() This book brought out what many families go through. Abby’s father who took to drinking and lost interest in dealing with responsibility also, was of no help except near the end of the book. The make-up of Abby’s family especially the mother brought out the ignorance that many people share in not understanding mental health issues. Abby, along with the other characters in the book were as real as real could be. The main character Abby, dealt with panic, anxiety and depression. It was a great story with a surprisingly thoughtful and appropriate good ending. ![]()
